The largest is 3m high. The heaviest jar reaches to 14 tons, while the majority of jars is about 1 to 2 meters high. Local people here still believe in the legend that the plain of jars is a giant cemetery or a resting place of thousands of dead people, who were very rich and had enough money to be buried in the coffins like this. From a distance, Plain of Jars looks like a chessboard. Currently, the Plain of Jars is still one of the dangerous archaeological sites in the world.
